Huhtamaki Asia Oceania is part of the Huhtamaki’s Foodservice Europe-Asia-Oceania business segment. We produce paper disposable tableware, such as cups and plates, and supply them to foodservice operators, fast food restaurants and coffee shops. In Foodservice Asia Oceania, we have manufacturing sites in China, Malaysia, India, Australia and New Zealand; and sales offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand.

Organization and Business Improvement Director, Foodservice Asia & Oceania

 

Directs and coordinates region or unit specific transformation projects to ensure performance and process improvement in the AO region. Works with senior management to identify areas of improvement, create projects and gather resources for the projects. Creates systematic, structured, change management driven approach to all transformation projects and coaches people through the change.


Organizational Context:

 

The regional Managing Director develops the strategy and business plans together with the GM’s and relevant other senior team members for coming 4 year period.  Projects are executed in line with strategy and approved budget. Bigger projects are monitored by a steering committee and other smaller projects as part of normal monthly business reviews.

 

Organization & Business Improvement Director AO is part of region’s senior management team. The closest collaborative working team are the GM’s in respective country organizations and the sales office site managers. And HR representatives at all levels, Segment’s M&A Director and Group communications team and other Group or Segment senior management are relevant stakeholders to this position.

 

Main responsibilities include:
 
1.    Direct, manage and deploy all internal transformation projects (like transfers, business consolidation, manufacturing footprint), M&A or other projects

  • After identifying the projects with senior management, work and plan with the team the right scope of project management needed and desired outcomes
  • Introduce and ensure the use of appropriate PM tools and processes within the project and with relevant team members
  • Develop a set of appropriate metrics to measure and report on project performance Work with Finance in assessing, tracking, and reporting financial benefits of selected subjects in projects
  • Provide leadership with periodic follow-up meetings with project teams to keep the progress on track
  • Develop recommendations for post-implementation sustainment mechanisms
  • Provide statistical and analytical expertise as required
  • Identify roadblocks, resistance and deviations from set path or standards and create action and mitigation plans with the team

 

2.    Partner with business leaders to define and execute business strategy for breakthrough levels of improvement in processes, organization structure and systems

  • Develop detailed business cases and use those to prioritize improvement opportunities in any process, system, organization or job-related topics
  • Lead, scope and charter improvement activities
  • Work in line with the Business Excellence framework to drive and initiate improvement, cost out / value in and other projects under the Group L6Sigma methodology.

 

3.    Provide change management expertise, train and coach people of the same

  • Coach people through change
  • Train people on change management tools and practises
  • Work closely with communications and HR teams as well as Business excellence teams and community


The successful candidate should possess:

  • Solid experience in operations, business value chain (both manufacturing and commercial environment)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Challenge the existing way of operating and drive for changes
  • Help the senior management to understand the gaps in business performance in terms of identifying business improvement initiatives
  • Develop an improvement driven culture with aim for high and sustainable standards
  • Knowledge of PM tools and change management practises
