Films for the building industry: hard, rough, smooth, non-slip, heat-resistant

The building industry makes extremely hard demands on people, materials, machinery, and also films.

Release liners and surface films are frequently used in the building industry. The films from Huhtamaki Films used in construction are exceptionally strong films with very good mechanical properties for heavy-duty outdoor applications. Those films must be especially tear-resistant, slip proof, puncture-resistant, impermeable to water, or extremely heat-resistant.

  • Huhtamaki films are characterized by their strength and impermeability to fluids, oils, ice, and other damaging external influences.
  • Huhtamaki films for the building industry are non-slip and tear-resistant, and provide maximum resistance to puncturing.
  • Huhtamaki release liners have constant release properties even with greatly fluctuating temperatures, from +5° to + 40° processing temperature in the application.

In the U.S. building industry, for example, Huhtamaki films are frequently used for roofing. One key advantage, among many other properties, is their very good heat resistance, as found in the processing of hot bitumen sheeting for sealing the roofs of timber houses.

Huhtamaki surface films for roof coverings The different properties of Huhtamaki surface films are practical in the building industry:

  • With a smooth surface as an intermediary layer with roof coverings, to prevent, among other things, the penetration of moisture
  • With a very rough surface and good sliding friction, to ensure, for example, the stability of workers on a roof in wet weather
  • If roofing felt instead of shingles is used, vapor-permeable films should be used so that moisture can escape.

Siliconized films in the building industry Huhtamaki siliconized films have been successfully used in building construction, for example, with self-adhesive sound and heat insulating materials. Their insensitivity to moisture and temperature deviations and their good stampability make siliconized films from Huhtamaki Films an ideal product.
