Huhtamaki Molded Fiber's concern for the environment goes beyond the production of environmentally-friendly packaging. It has chosen for integral environmental care. That is, for critical monitoring of the overall process – from the supply of raw material through the manufacturing process up to and including delivery of the final product. With the development of a coordinated policy the group has succeeded in imposing radical improvements on all aspects which connect the operations to the environment.

In this way process water, for example, is recycled completely. Improvement in efficiency has drastically reduced consumption of natural gas and/or electricity. Stack emissions are also cleaner than ever before. And improved logistics in transport has resulted in a sharp drop in the needed number of shipments.

The concern for a clean and healthy environment is something that involves all. Huhtamaki Molded Fiber makes a resolute contribution in this area and will continue working on enduring improvements, also in close cooperation with both customers and suppliers.
Preservation of the environment guarantees Huhtamaki national recognition, having received national awards from for example in Brazil Instituto Biosfera (Biosphere Institute), IBPQGP and others.
