Recommendations for storing Huhtamaki products

These recommendations inform you how to handle and store molded fiber products in a right way, to assure their quality.

Egg cartons and egg trays

After delivery it is recommended to store the products at a maximum of 60% relative humidity to ensure the retention of fibre strength. The storage time must be as short as possible, with a maximum of 6 months. Maintain First In First Out. Stored molded fiber packaging should be stacked at a height of 3 meters maximum per layer and not higher than 2 layers.  

Filled with eggs

Egg cartons filled with eggs can be stacked to a recommended maximum height of 13 layers.
The trays can be stacked up to 5 times 6 layers. An intermediate sheet of (corrugated) board is recommended for stabilization and protection. Corner posts will additionally increase stability and safety.
