About Huhtamaki Ceska republika
Huhtamaki Ceska republika, a.s. is situated in Pribyslavice in the Czech Republic. Paper production in Pribyslavice has a long history – the first paper mill was set up in 1690! That ranks the Pribyslavice plant among the oldest Huhtamaki plants.
Molded fiber production (egg trays) started after World War II in 1948. Until 1993, the company was owned by the state. After that the company was acquired by Royal Packaging Industries, Van Leer BV. In 1995 first egg cartons were produced. During 1999 Van Leer merged with Huhtamaki. In the beginning of 2000 company was named Huhtamaki Ceska republika, a.s.. That year was also important, because paper production was canceled and attention was focused just on molded fiber packaging.
